History
Government Polytechnic College, Arakandanallur, Villupuram was established by Government of Tamilnadu in the Year 2010 Vide G.O(MS) No.7, Higher Education (B2) Department dated: 19.01.2010 mainly for the upliftment of rural students by imparting quality Technical Education.
This Polytechnic is located at Kandachipuram Main Road, S. Kollur Village, Arakandanallur Post, Tirukoilur Taluk, Villupuram District. This Polytechnic is located at distance of 196 km from Chennai, the state Head Quarters 30 km from Villupuram, the district Head Quarters and 7km from Tirukoilur the ancient Temple City. The Polytechnic Campus spreads in to 5.5 acres of Land housing Administrative Block, Library Block, Workshops and Boy’s Hostel.
The Polytechnic was approved by AICTE, New Delhi Vide letter No: F.NO.TN./NDIP/2010-2011/018 Dated: 23 September 2010 for offering 3Year Full time Diploma in Engineering Program in the following Discipline with sanctioned intake of 60 Students in each.
Five batches of Students have passed out some of them are pursuing Engineering Degree through lateral entry and many of them are placed is reputed industries.
This Institution has Training and Placement Cell through which career guidance programs are organized for the Final Year Students. Experts from Industries are invited to deliver guest Lectures on the recent trends in technology.
